impression of Beijing

I arrived in Beijing at 17th May, as I intended. First impression of course in the airport of Beijing. Dude, sky was soooo clear! Heart it! Well, heart-it-moment only last for around two hour, haha! After that, I just realized how hot it was there; super hot! Unlucky me, I wore sweater when I leaved from Indonesia. No doubt, I was super-sweated on my first day in Beijing.

Looked through the taxi window, on my way to the place where I lived, I saw Beijing is a lot more Westernized than I ever thought. Another thoughts, I saw that Beijing itself is tremendously cosmopolitan, shown by absolutely commercialism. Malls and European brands are everywhere, as well as markets and people on the street. Crowded is so on! That time, I was wondering, is this the character in the whole of China? As my temporary answer, I would say maybe because Beijing is the capital city of China, that's why it seems very up-to-the-minute.

I worked from Monday till Friday, with office hour from 08.30 until 17.30. My colleague was Singaporean named Sin Liang. He is not young but his face looked so young. Lucky him! Hehe. There were some AIESECers to spent times with, and also my new colleagues from NGO where I worked, so it's easy to spent times enjoy the historical and cultural sight, nightlife and (of course!) marvelous foodies here.

My next impression, Beijing's environment was comforting and tough at the same time. Despite the language barrier I have, I really love the people and lifestyle and may perhaps without doubt see myself coming to China again. With well improvements of Chinese language! Hehe!
